Slow-Cooked Apple Cherry Pastries with Vanilla Cream.

What You’ll Need:
-1 lemon
-8 apple (about 3 pounds), peeled and cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices
-1/2 cup dried cherries
-1 cup sugar
-1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding and pie filling mix
-3 cups reduced fat (2%) milk
-2 packages (10 ounces each ) Puff Pastry Shells, prepared according to package directions

How to Make It:
1 Grate 1/2 teaspoon zest from the lemon. Stir the apples, cherries, sugar and lemon zest in a 4-quart slow cooker.
2 Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours or until the apples are tender.
3 Beat the pudding mix and milk in a medium bowl with a whisk for about 2 minutes or until the mixture is thickened.
4 Divide the apple mixture among the pastry shells. Top with the pudding mixture.
