Peaches – one of my favorite fruits. But how much do we know about him?


In the days of the Roman Empire, people thought that this fruit is originally from Persia, and since in Latin it sound like – «Prunus persica». At first it was called the Persian apple.

In fact, a fruit native to China, but in other countries it has got through Persia. In China, the peach is a symbol of good luck, protection and longevity.

Since 1982 in the United States in August is National Peach month. Peaches were in America at the time of Columbus’ voyage to this continent. The first peach orchard in the United States appeared in Florida in 1565.
State of Georgia in the United States the local population calls the peach state, because there is a lot of peach orchards, although the absolute leader of the country in growing these wonderful fruit is California.

The main global producer of peaches is China, followed by Italy followed.

Peach Properties:

1. Peach helpful for digestion and has a diuretic effect. It is good to eat to cleanse the kidneys and bladder.

2. This wonderful fruit has a natural calming effect. It has good effects on the stomach by acid indigestion.

3. Peach gives the feeling of satiety, so it is good to use as a snack between meals. Despite the fact that it is sweet, it very few calories – 35-50 – and no fat at all, so it can be eaten by those who lose weight.

4. peaches many vitamins A, B and C, as well as magnesium, phosphorus, calcium and potassium, so it is not only useful for the digestive system, but also to muscle, bone and heart disease, so often called peach tree of life.

5. Peach has very good moisturizing properties, so useful for skin renewal. It is often used in cosmetics.

6. Eating a peach has a positive effect on the condition of the scalp and prevents hair loss.

7. Peaches help to get rid of a bad mood and anxiety. In Hungary, therefore, they are called “fruits of peace”.

8. Peach very fragrant and can be used as an aphrodisiac.

9. The peach contains selenium, which is a good prevention of cancer.

10. Peach is a member of the Rosaceae family and a close relative of almonds.

11. The kernel of peach pits contain prussic acid, which is poisonous. Therefore it is not recommended to use them in large quantities.
