Corn tortillas – the recipe with a photo

Recipe for Mexican tortillas  made from corn flour at home.

2 tbsp. cornmeal
1 h. L. salt
2 tbsp. l. lard
1.5 cups of water

1. Pour into a bowl corn flour, salt, add the lard and knead the dough thoroughly.

2. Add water and stir until smooth. The dough should get a little wet. Moisten your hands with water, to form a ball of dough and divide into 12 pieces, roll into balls. Put the ball on the parchment paper, giving the hand to form a round cake.

3. Then cover up another sheet of parchment paper and roll out the dough with a rolling pin into a circle with a diameter of 17 cm. And a thickness of 0.3 mm. Repeat with remaining dough balls.

4. Fry the tortillas on a preheated pan with non-stick coating, with an average temperature for 1 – 2 minutes. from each side. Get ready tortilla parchment paper.
